With Easter soon approaching and yesterday being the first day of Spring, I decided to lighten and brighten my decor!
This year everyone is loving soft whites, pinks, and blues from Pantone's colors of the year (Rose Quartz and Serenity) to Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams (Simply White OC-117 and Alabaster SW 7008).
Here's my living room with more of the on-trend colors. Still light and spring-y in subtle rose pink and lime green
I don't always follow the trends and it just so happens that last year I started really liking brighter hues that add a little punch to my neutral color scheme, namely jewel tones like magenta, teal and sapphire.
These colors are rich in saturation and immediately give energy to a space since they come from precious gemstones.
Make sure to add something personal as well to your decor. The glass dolphin is a souvenir from our first family trip to Florida. It brings happy, sunny memories along with it's cheerful hue!
I love how just looking at my water color cushion brightens my mood in the morning especially when outside my window is a "Newfoundland Spring"...
What jewel tones would you love to have in your home this Spring? Here's some inspiration to get you started :)
